Erie County's new executive is Democrat Mark Poloncarz (Robert J. McCarthy, Buffalo News).

The Arkansas company lined up to purchase Rochester's PAETEC says it also wants to buy back $300 million worth of bonds (Will Astor, Rochester Business Journal).

Xerox is making its new CiPress printing press platform in a Rochester suburb (Matthew Daneman, Democrat and Chronicle).

The opening of the Champlain Bridge also marks the debut of a fiber optic cable crossing into Vermont from New York (Eric Anderson, Times Union).
