Cuomo makes no mistake about it: Bill Clinton likes his budget.

Happy unseasonably warm Monday morning! Here's today's Trail Mix:

The Cuomo administration's secret dossier on an Albany reporter is leaked.

Why Rust Belt cities might be cooler than you think.

Plus, Google gets in trouble with the FCC.

Politics

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's aides put together a 35-page dossier on YNN blogger and television host, Liz Benjamin. The file calls several of her articles, "generally snarky" (Ben Smith, Buzzfeed).

Senator Chuck Schumer is in Syracuse today, announcing his support for low-interest student loans (Charley Hannagan, Post Standard).

Together with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Schumer billed taxpayers a total of $449,433 in chartered aircraft fees. They racked up the nearly half-a-million dollars in the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2011 (Brian Tumulty, Ithaca Journal).

Fracking

The Ithaca-based Park Foundation is quietly giving money to groups that oppose fracking. Since 2009, it's given more than $3 million to dozens of groups (Jon Campbell, Gannett).

An expert says Pennsylvania should treat wastewater from conventional oil and gas wells the same way its handles fracking wastewater (Kevin Begos, Associated Press).

Tech

A high-tech satellite set for launch next year, will carry a number of patented technologies developed in Rochester (Sean Lahman, Democrat and Chronicle).

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking to fine Google $25,000 over allegedly failing to comply with an FCC investigation. It all stems from Google's collection of sensitive data by way of its Street View location service (Bloomberg).

Rust Belt

In its latest issue, Details magazine profiled the revival of Rust Belt cities, including Buffalo (Details).

Apparently, the editor of the Buffalo News missed the above post. She says Buffalo deserves more ink (Margaret Sullivan, Buffalo News).
