Election 2012
New York is one of five states sending Republican primary voters to the polls today. In New York - as elsewhere - Mitt Romney is expected to rack up more delegates (Thomas Kaplan, New York Times).
Foregone conclusions apparently don't fire up primary voters. In Rochester's Monroe County, experts are expecting turnout in the low teens (Jill Terreri, Democrat and Chronicle).
Romney picked up an endorsement from a former critic yesterday (Reid Pillifant, Capital New York).

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has opened bidding on 51 major public works projects. Construction on the first wave of projects is expected to start in June (Associated Press).
Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is no longer "the most powerful man in Albany" - but he still holds quite a bit of sway (Associated Press).
