Frankly, we say this innovation thing has gone too far!  Some grad student in California has made a program that erases people from Google's Street View. People are the best part of Street View!

There is perhaps no better example of this than the Street With A View project. Spend some time flying around Pittsburgh's Sampsonia Way on your own for a while. Then check out some of the scenes that you may have missed.

Since making our map of all the wind power projects in New York state, we went on a little Google Maps jag. Of course, you can Street View wind turbines. But we have to admit Sampsonia Way seems a little more lively.

(Full disclosure: Rachel, our editor, is friends with one of the artists that created this project. We think it's cool anyway.)
